You have to watch her duet with Donna Summer at the end on last dance. Really, I don't know what to say. I am speechless.
Brooke White actually sounded good singing disco.

Syesha Mercado's Little Red Dress
American Idol Results Finale - Carrie Underwood - Last Name
Yeah, this is the difference between a superstar and a bunch of pretenders. Sit down Davids and dream on. It is never going to happen, although the little David could do well singing in cartoons where you don't have to look at him.
American Idol Recap
You may have noticed the absence of entries about AI this year, which reflects my ambivalence about this years show.
I think this AI had the best top ten and the worst top 5. Everyone was uniformly pretty good, no one was great. I like Cook better than the little Mormon hobbit, but the hobbit definitely beat him on the final night. Cook must have won as a result of his performances in past weeks. I think Cook peaked in the first five weeks of the final 10 and then got kind of nervous and choked in the last five weeks. He, actually, was very good last night when he had a chance to relax.
Having said that, the contrast between Cook and someone like Daughtry is a joke. Daughtry is so much better than Cook, it is really hard to compare.
Did you see Carrie Underwood last night? I mean, DAMN! Now, that is a star. She was singing some honky tonk, white trash song that I have never heard of, and she basically made every other performer look like an amateur.
Regardless, I am happy just to stare at Syesha and her plunging neckline in a stupor. Wow, I don't know what to say about that little red dress. Go Syesha Go. She was the one that I wanted to win.

So Funny
This has to be one of the funniest religions around. You can tell that it was written by a bad science fiction writer. When one looks around the world and sees some of these ridiculous religions, like Islam, and then looks at Scientology, one can see how easy it is to get people to follow these ridiculous beliefs.
Very funny.
"Moment of Cognition," I think that is my favorite phrase.

United Nations Will Investigate America for Racism | The New York Sun
OK, let me see if I can figure this out, we are the largest benefactor of the UN; we give more money to the UN than any other country, approximately 25% of its entire operating budget, and, now, we are going to be investigated by the UN Human Rights Commission, an organization, which, in its history, has condemned only Israel and no other country, for discrimination in the presidential campaign.
The Human Rights Commission, which can't even convene to discuss the ongoing tragedy in Myanamar or Darfur, is going to condemn America for its democracy?????
What a joke. God, I hate the UN. Why don't we just kick it out of the country and withdraw? What a collection of losers.

California's top court overturns gay marriage ban - Yahoo! News
This is very bad. I am actually in favor of gay marriage but there is nothing worse than having an unelected appointed body of the liberal elite overturning the democratic will of the people. Clearly, there is no precedence for gay marriage in the federal and state constitutions. These rights are being made-up and imposed on the people by a fascist elite that holds the people in contempt. This is the beginning of the destruction of American democracy, the beginning of liberal fascism, and this will lead to violence as the people rage against the loss of their democratic voice.
The fact that the liberal elites do not recognize the dangers is very unsettling and suggests that they will be willing to use force to put down the people if necessary.
Yet another reason to vote for McCain. Someday, the liberals are going to be rounding up the undesirable thinkers and putting them in camps. Just wait and see. They already have contempt for democracy. It is a short step to enforcing one's viewpoints not just by the courts but by state force. Another reason why we must keep the second amendment and why I have to get a gun. The liberals are coming for us, get ready.

What I like about the Italians is that they are so calm when discussing sport
See, this is what I like about life, the passion, the enjoyment, the living in the moment. I can't imagine what it would be like to be Benjamin Whitmer or Ward Churchill, sitting around all day, beating themselves up about what racist scumbags they are and how their ancestors did such terrible things to people or in Ward's case owned slaves. Get over it, move on with your life, love soccer.

Food Crisis Starts Eclipsing Climate Change Worries | The New York Sun
No kidding.
Sometime, issues are so obvious, one wonders how they can be missed. And, that is the point, they are not being missed. It is the plan.
There is a reason why Al Gore does not promote nuclear power, and there is a reason why he won't talk about biofuels. Al Gore wants to kill poor people. If Al Gore and the environmentalists wanted to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels and the Middle East, they would promote nuclear power, the fastest and easiest way for us to reduce our carbon footprint, but that would be too easy.
Instead, fat boy Al decides to use our FOOD for industrial energy. Apparently, fat boy's house is well-stocked, but for those in the third world, good luck. Al and the environmentalists want you dead.

World food fears mount as rice prices hit record - Yahoo! News
For further proof that environmentalists care more about the environment than people, click on the link. Of course, the article by the MSM does not make this clear, but rising fuel costs combined with the environmental push for biofuels is causing more and more farmers to sell their crops for use as fuel in automobiles and not for use as food. This, of course, has pushed up demand, which has lead to higher costs, which will probably kill millions of people in the third world and is leading to extensive deforestation in places such as Indonesia as farmers burn down forests to meet the demand for biofuel.
Everyone knows that the quickest and most efficient way to make us energy independent and to save the rain forests would be to support the further development of nuclear power, so we can be like France which gets 80% of its power from nuclear energy and not like the U.S., which gets 5% of its power from nuclear energy. See, it is very, very simple and easy, and we could alleviate many of our problems, including dependency on the Middle East by developing nuclear power.
But the environmentalists don't want to use nuclear power. They would rather that millions in the third world die of starvation, just like they wanted millions in the third world to die of malaria rather than use DDT. God forbid that .0001 percent of the kids have birth defects, just kill 100% of them with malaria, at least malaria is all natural.
At this point, I think that the evidence is pretty overwhelming that environmentalists plan to save the planet by liquidating as many humans as they can. Frankly, that is why so many environmentalists and animal rights activists support abortion and the liquidation of 45 million unborn babies in the U.S. since 1973. By killing people, they lower our carbon footprint. They like animals better than people.
Thank God that most of these people are not procreating.

ONLY STUPID PEOPLE BELIEVE THAT VACCINATION CAUSES AUTISM, THE OVERWHELMING MAJORITY OF THESE PEOPLE ARE LIBERALS
Click on the link. Great article about the non-link between autism and vaccination, must reading for all the idiot liberals who continue to believe this debunked nonsense at the same time that they want the government to take over their health care coverage. I have never understood these crazy liberals who think the government infected blacks with AIDS, cause autism in children by vaccination, and still insist that the government should take over their most personal medical decisions. It is almost as if they have two brains in one head: one brain is a petulant teenage anti-government conspiracy theorist, the other brain is a little baby crying for Big Government to be their mommy. Pathetic.

Second quote of the day by Peggy Noonan in the WSJ
Noonan points out that most rich people in America become elitist leftists.
Declarations - WSJ.com: "To rise in America is to turn left, unless you are very, very tough or protected by privilege of the financial or familial kind."
Given my complete lack of financial or familial privilege, I must be tough.
Robert Downey, Jr., Quote of the Day
Well, well, well, if you go to hell and back and hang out with drug addicts and criminals, you become a conservative, probably because Downey realized how miserable the average person is.
With ‘Iron Man,’ Robert Downey Jr. Winks at His Past and Looks to Transcend It - New York Times: "“I have a really interesting political point of view, and it’s not always something I say too loud at dinner tables here, but you can’t go from a $2,000-a-night suite at La Mirage to a penitentiary and really understand it and come out a liberal. You can’t. I wouldn’t wish that experience on anyone else, but it was very, very, very educational for me and has informed my proclivities and politics every since.”"

Brigitte Bardot prosecuted by the left for not thinking correct thoughts
Brigitte Bardot is prosecuted yet again for pointing out that the Muslim festival of Eid-al-Kabir is barbaric and cruel to animals. Typical of many Muslim festivals it involves lots of blood, slaughter, throat slitting, the usual.
This is what terrifies me about the Left. France, an allegedly civilized country, is prosecuting Bardot because her opinions are not correct. If convicted, they will probably send her to a reeducation camp.
This is the problem with the Left and political correctness. They really are the water carriers for fascism and totalitarianism. It is a slippery slope from political correctness, affirmative action, and speech codes to rounding up the bad thinking conservatives and putting them in camps.
Thank god we have the second amendment because the day America starts prosecuting people for what they think, I am going to buy the biggest gun that I can find.

Dr. Wafa Sultan, Al Jazeera Debate Part I
Islam has suppressed reason and logic to such an extent that alleged talking heads and commentators on Al Jazeera are reduced to calling Dr. Sultan a CIA and Mossad stooge for daring to criticize Islam at all. Can you imagine if the talking heads in America started reacting negatively to anyone who criticized Christianity or Israel. 90% of the news shows on TV would have to go off the air.
WHY I LEFT ISLAM BY WAFA SULTAN
Wafa Sultan speaking about, among other things, the absolute barbarism of Islam toward women. Has there ever been a religion that has promoted so much suffering by women in the world. Approximately, 700 million women and girls live under the 6th century dictates of an illiterate delusional false dessert prophet whose living example and deeds, horrible and horrendous, are used to justify the abuse of women and children. It is an unspeakable tragedy and Nancy Pelosi and other western feminists who grovel in front of Islam should be embarrassed at their hypocrisy and gross racism toward third world women who they do not believe deserve to live in freedom and equality.

AMERICAN IDOL
I could spend a lot of time reviewing this week's results, but that would take away the most obvious point in the whole week -- HOW DID DAUGHTRY EVER GET VOTED OFF AMERICAN IDOL.
For those of you who did not see his acoustic performance at the end of Idol Gives Back, here is the song. Unfortunately, it is not the acoustic version from the show, but it is still awesome.
Briefly, with regard to Michael Johns getting voted off -- Who cares? Sure he is better than some of the contestants remaining, but it is not like he is going to win. More interesting to me was that Michael, Carly, and Syesha were all in the bottom three. I would have replaced any of them with Archuletta and Kristy Lee Cook in a second, but, maybe, that is just me.
Interesting, how Carly was so distraught about Johns and was mouthing that she should have been voted off. I suspect that there is some immigrant bond going on there.
Anyway, I am still a Smithson fan, but she better do better than she did this week, or she will be going home.

Hillary collaborates in murder of hundreds of thousands of Bosnians
Christopher Hitchens' article points out that Hillary's lies about evading sniper fire in Bosnia are the least of it. Hillary sabotaged the United States' promises to prevent ethnic cleansing to protect her failed health care initiative. In the next four years after Hillary's treachery, 250,000 Bosnians were liquidated.
A double whammy, not only was Hillary ineffective as a leader on health care, she also collaborated in the murder of hundreds of thousands. She could have stopped it, but it would have gotten in the way of yet another one of her failed initiatives.
She has such great experience.

David Paterson, Neocon?
EDITORIAL OF THE SUN | April 9, 2008
Governor Paterson was in Manhattan yesterday to speak at a breakfast of the Association for a Better New York, and it sounded as if his speech had been written by a cabal of New York Sun editorial writers. Seriously, we haven't heard such an on-target explanation of the problems facing New York — and of the potential solutions — since we last got off the phone with E.J. McMahon of the Manhattan Institute.
"The budget that was presented to me was too big and too bloated. It had somewhere between a 4.8 to 5.1% growth in our state economy," Mr. Paterson said, according to a copy of his remarks on the governor's Web site. "How much more foresighted would it have been to have addressed a budget growth on the inflation rate about 2 to 2.5, rather that a budget a rate that ballooned out a lot of our revenue forecasts and our expenditures."The governor spoke of an astounding reduction in revenues from the state's 20 largest taxpayers. By the third week in March of 2007, they had paid in $533 million. This year, they had paid $72 million — just 14% of the revenue from the prior year.
"The first thing we have to do is tighten our belts and be far more fiscally sound and prudent in terms of the revenues that we are spending," Mr. Paterson said. He spoke of friends he had in New York who had moved to Texas, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina, explaining that while they loved New York, "they couldn't pay the taxes." He spoke of African-Americans fleeing New York for South Carolina, Alabama, and Georgia, and of Puerto Rican families leaving East Harlem for Paramus and Edgewater, N.J.
The governor spoke of how programs developed to address the flight of jobs and individuals from the state had failed, of how "enterprise zones" became "the most glorified discretionary member items in New York state history." He spoke of the absurdity of the STAR program, a rebate for property taxpayers. "Sending back rebates to individuals who are hoodwinked and cajoled into thinking that 5% of the money that they sent to the state got sent back them, and somehow they're supposed to be happy about it is patently ridiculous," he said.
He spoke of the 640 public authorities in this state, "only 11 of them regulated by the public authority control board. Maybe we should find out what the other 629 do, because they consume billions of your and my dollars every year in taxes."
Said Mr. Paterson, "This is the kind of hard core cutting that we need to do in our budget next year, so that we can cut 5 to 10% off the top, and not balancing the budget on those who need services, on the middle class, or people who are lucky enough to make a million dollars."
It is one thing for a columnist or an editorial writer or a think tank analyst to talk this way, and another thing for a governor to talk this way. And it's one thing for a governor to talk this way, and yet another thing for a governor to actually follow through on it by vetoing excess spending and by exposing himself to attack from special interest groups by proposing specific spending cuts.
If Mr. Paterson proceeds to govern along the lines he outlined yesterday morning, he'll have plenty of support, and may yet make the leap from an accidental governor to an elected one. More importantly, people may stop fleeing New York and start coming here from places like Texas, Nevada, Pennsylvania and North Carolina to help the state grow. For what Mr. Paterson really nailed in his speech yesterday was the vision of individuals, not as sources of congestion, greenhouse gases, or traffic taxes, as Mayor Bloomberg and his allies at the Partnership for New York City and in the environmental movement have sometimes seemed to look at them recently, but as assets in creating opportunity in a better, more prosperous New York.
Berlusconi: My women are more beautiful
Berlusconi: My Party’s Women ‘More Beautiful’
By BLOOMBERG NEWS | April 9, 2008
Silvio Berlusconi, the favorite to win Italy’s national elections April 13–14, said his rivals have poor taste in women and that their female politicians are uglier and less educated than women in his party.
“The left doesn’t even have good taste when it comes to women,” Mr. Berlusconi told Sky TG24 television in an interview yesterday. The women in his People of Liberty party “are more beautiful and moreover all have super degrees. When I say ours are better looking it’s because when I look around in parliament, there really is no comparison.”
This is not the first time Mr. Berlusconi has made controversial comments about women. Visiting the New York Stock Exchange in September 2003, he told investors to put their money in Italy because “the secretaries are beautiful, so at least you can take pleasure working there.”

American Idol Update
I have been a bit busy, and I have neglected my American Idol responsibilities, but I am going to tell you who the top competitors are in order of my preference. The finalists should be.
Carly Smithson (1) v. David Cook (2).
I really think they are the top two.
If you close your eyes and don't listen to her conversations with the judges, you might be able to make an argument for Brooke White (3), but she is just too annoying and uncoordinated.
Michael Johns has a great voice, and he has been coming on lately, but there is nothing different about him (4).
I like Syesha (5), but she doesn't have that special something.
Jason Castro (6) picks great songs, and he is a good performer, but he is not a great singer.
I don't enjoy listening to Archuleta (7) sing.
Kristy Lee Cook (8) is hot but that is about it.
Honestly, I look forward to hearing Smithson, Cook, and White sing because they are all a bit different. The rest of the group can sing, but I would not pay to buy their albums.
The above is my humble opinion.
